How to repaint a table.. for DIVAS.

How to repaint a table... FOR DIVAS.
If I would have known painting a table was this easy I would have done it years ago.
I recently moved into a fabulous apartment and I didn't want to have this red coffee table in the center of my living room. (Unless it's lipstick, red isn't really my color).  My Mom gave this table to me about four years ago. It looked really good in her house... but it was a time for change.

Products I used:

Glidden Paint
Paint & Primer
Semi-Gloss
Color: Shoreline Green

Fine Sand Paper

A foam paint roller: For the top of the table, just brush strokes up and down. This paint blends beautifully. Two coats is all it took.

Foam paint brushes for the legs. Take your time. The legs on these table took 3 coats!
(These were actually kind of a pain in the ass to use. They're sponges so they kept wiping off paint as I would stroke. I'll probably try paint brushes next time.)

Sand the entire table. (I am not a sand papering professional.)

Next: Grab a rag and wipe off the dust. Start your painting!

Final Look:

Washing your makeup brushes with shampoo samples!

Don't know what to do with all of those shampoo/conditioner samples you get from hotels? I DO! I unfortunately can't take the credit for this brilliant idea... my wonderful Mother is the one who thought of this and it works great for cleaning your brushes!! Thank you MOMMA! :)

I swear I'm not a hoarder... I knew these would come in handy one day!!

Grab a shampoo sample and squeeze some of it into a bowl and just start swishing around your makeup brush!

Once you have soap all over the brush bristles, pour a little bit of water at a time to continue getting the makeup and dirt off.

Note: Always have your brushes facing down to prevent water getting inside the brush causing the glue to get loose and separate.

Rinse.

Lay flat or at an angle facing down if possible to dry.

All done! :)

Summer Face Essentials

These are my summer face MUST HAVES.
If you don't want to wear a lot of makeup to the beach or pool but you still want to look a little put together, I highly recommend trying these drugstore products! I am obsessed!! :D

Garnier BB Cream
KMart: about $12
I found this product to be amazing for summer time fun! It has an SPF of 15 and is so hydrating! I have my BB cream in the original formula because I have pretty dry skin and living in Utah doesn't help! Some may feel the consistency and think it feels like a very thick lotion. The coverage is pretty light and gives a very natural look while covering blemishes and any discoloration.

Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara
Walgreens: About $7
Most mascaras that aren't waterproof can definitely smudge and cause raccoon eyes. I don't have the waterproof version of this mascara and after wearing it to the pool and beach I noticed it wasn't smudged all over my eyes at all! You may get tiny black crumbs of this formula below your eyes that can easily be wiped away. I luckily live in a more dry area where lashes stand tall and voluminous!  (P.S. I did also notice in humid climates it may be harder to get your lashes to stand tall with this mascara. But that didn't stop me!;))

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart
Walmart: About $7
Hydrating, so much color pigmentation, and a so many colors to choose from. These are incredible. Leave them in your purse or in the sun and they don't melt like lipsticks do! They're retractable and have a few hour staying power! Could these be any more perfect for summer?!! :D

ELF Golden Bronzer
KMart: $2.99
Elf's Golden Bronzer can be used as a highlight above your cheekbone, an eye shadow, and even a blush! This can give your face the perfect golden goddess appearance! It's fairly light and does have shimmer, so I don't recommend it for contouring your face. You can't beat the price! I recommend adding this to your summer ready face! :)

Going to the club? What you DON'T do.

My first summer being 21 I got a weekend job taking photos at the club.  I went every Friday and Saturday of my Summer and then some! I made so many new friends and I got to listen to awesome music and get paid for it! Because I was taking photos and going every weekend I started to constantly see things that would drive me bonkers!!
Trust me, I am not a "Clubbing'' professional. I've had my fair share of "WTF is she wearing?!"
My sole purpose of making this list is to help YOU ladies out and give you some serious advice! I'm sure after reading this list you can agree with almost all of the things I have to say.
SOOO LET'S JUMP RIGHT IN!!

Going to the club? What you DON'T do.

1.  I do not care how CUTE or sexy or fun or expensive your dress is... WEAR A STRAPLESS BRA. You're wearing your brand new little black strapless dress from Bebe.. but all people notice is your bright ass red bra straps! Ladies, please... DON'T DO IT.

2.  Wear shoes you can walk in. NUFF SAID.

3.  How classy does it look when a girl gets soooo intoxicated she can't walk?  Exactly, IT DOESN'T.

4.  Carry a clutch. Yes, it can be annoying having to hold all night but if your boyfriend/husband is anything like mine, lipgloss and a teasing comb is not something he wants to stuff his pockets with! And plus, keeping all of your items in one safe place in your hand isn't a bad idea!

5. This one is so serious it needed it's own number. CELL PHONE BOOB. Definition: Tucking your big ass android cell phone in your sweaty chichis!! EWWW! This one is just as worse as #1.

6.  I haven't seen too many people doing this but I have seen enough to bring it up. Wearing sunglasses inside the club doesn't make you cool nor make me want to be friends with you as does wearing your bluetooth make me assume you're successful. What is the damn point?

See what I mean... "WTF is she wearing?!" hahaha

7.  I don't want anyone to take offense to this one... but we need to be real and honest here. No one likes that friend that is bumming drinks off everyone. Unless there is prior establishment that your homegirl is going to be hooking you up with drinks that night, do not be a moocher! If you don't have the money to blow that weekend, stay home!! There will be other nights to party. When I walk up to the bar to order MYSELF a drink and my homegirl just stands there giving me that sad puppy dog face.. ohhh hell noooo!

8. "Don't buy someone a drink who wouldn't buy one for you."  Does this sound selfish? Because honestly, I have ran into this sooo many times because I'm such a nice person! I have found myself buying $10 cocktails for my "friends" who never even think to return the favor not that night, not any night! I just don't want to see a nice person taken advantage of. Buy a drink for your friend who paid your cover.. or for that girl who ripped your price tag off your dress.. ;)  Make your drink purchases responsibly!
